　このところ、米国を中心に外国からの来訪者が急増し、日々の訪問者数が定着してきた感があります。おそらくそれらの訪問者の方は、海外在住のビジネスマンまたは留学生かと推察しますが、国外でご活躍の方々の、日々、unusual,new wordsの洪水にさらされているご様子がうかがわれますね。そう思うと、このブログの内容を、より充実したものにして行きいという思いが一層つのります。。出来ることなら一方通行でなく、ご意見ご提言、はたまた英語にまつわる逸話等々、どしどしコメント頂き、両方向のブログにして行けたらどんなにワクワクする事だろうと思っています。
　さて、今回の５００語総索引ですが、実際の単語数は４８５語（同じものの重複など集計の不手際による）で、既掲載を忘れて重複してしまったものが４個ありますが、ダジャレ文がどう違っているか分かるようあえてそのまま掲載致しました。辞書としてのほか、一覧表になった裸の単語を目にされ、どの程度ダジャレ文を想起できるか（意味そのものなら尚可）のチェック表としてもご活用下さい。思い出せないものも数多くお有りかと思いますが、再読二度目にはかなり定着し、三度目にはほぼ染み込むはずです？粘り強くお願いします。（単に語呂が良いだけより、おかしくバカバカしいストーリーのあるものの方が思い出し易いようですね。いずれまた、想起性の分析をしたいと思います。）一方、これら約500語の単語が本当に覚える価値有るものなのかどうか、が問題となりますが、現在米国人英語講師にそのチェックをお願いしていて、結果を次回にはお見せできる予定です。

前回随想に加筆修正した部分が有り、それをここに再掲載させて頂きます。下記の黄色背景文字部分で、英会話時のジェスチャーについてのくだりです。
―akimboならともかく、shrugという動作は日本人には本当に似合わないジェスチャーですね、何なのでせうあれは、一体全体。JapaneseAmericanの場合はどんな感じなのか、その動作見てみたいですね、例えば現在NHKのトレッドジャパンに出演中のShimabukuro氏などの。―
さて今回の随想ですが、とうとうダジャレた単語１０００語達成です。このブログ開始後一年直前で到達出来ました。バカバカしい（そうな）ものにお付き合い頂きまして、心より感謝申し上げます。空しいと感じる時が有るものの、来訪され見てくれている方がおられると思っただけで、勇気付けられ、続ける事が出来ました。ところで、語彙力はいかがでせうか。正直に申しまして、作成者の私自身一、二読では忘れる場合も少なくなく、「努力」（私の最も嫌いなもの）の要素がどうしても付きまとってしまうのも事実ですが、レビューなどをひやかし半分にでも読み返していると、着実に体に染み込んでいく実感はあります。どうぞ複数回来訪され、定着を図って下さい。また皆様へのお願いですが、本題に気に入った語呂合わせ文ありましたら、番号をコメントにてお知らせ下さい。「本日の大賞」として巻末に掲載させて頂きたく思います。
今後とも適当にお付き合い頂けます事をお願いして、１０００語達成記念号のご挨拶とさせて頂きます。尚、巻末の「お知らせ」でお示ししましたように、次回はこの半年間の５００語の総索引（アルファベット順並び）で、次々回からの公開は、各月二回（第一、第三月曜日９：００）の更新とさせて頂きます。間が空く分、何度か読み返し、定着を図って頂けますれば本望です。

　ダジャレ文の中の青色文字は英語の意味、赤色文字は語呂合わせの部分で、かなりなまったり方言ぽくなる場合があります。（ダジャレ文は語呂合わせの為の文言であり、意味の正当性、日本文としての正確性は有りません。）英語の意味と語呂が重なっている場合紫色文字になります。初公開時以降に追加・修正した部分は緑色背景文字で表示しています。英単語に添えられた丸数字は難易度レベルを表しています。詳しくは８/２７号をご参照ください。（⑦～⑫は書物には頻出。⑳以上も新聞等には時折出現する。）

別案１：炉をたく火は（ふぁー）ねーす。困ったす。---「ふぁー」で「火」を連想させるには無理があるか。
別案２；寒くても不安ねーす、暖房炉あれば。
２）上司の怒りにヒ（フ）ヤリとす。⑥fury(n)
別案：怒った振りではなめられるだけ。
３）歩取る手は無駄手という弱い将棋指し。⑦futile(a)---やや苦、要改良
改良案：雨が降っとると傘が無駄にならない。

別案２：同じファズィー（fu●●y）でもsとzでは正反対、sは「細かい事言う、神経質な」で、zは「細かい事言わない、あいまいな（日本語になっている）」である。これ本当、ファッジ（fudge；作り事）に非ず。---一網打尽風になりました。

２/２５ハッとする英文そのⅡ、一転英語礼賛？

また、ハッとする英文見つけました。（７/２号←リンクされてます、参照）英詩の中の”Bloom where God has planted you.”という文章、今高年者間で話題の渡辺和子氏の著書の題名となった原典なのだそうですが、英文とはこんな簡単な用語でこんな意味深い事柄が表現できてしまうのか、と驚いたのです。訳すと「置かれた場所で咲きなさい」という、味もそっけもない和文になってしまうのですが（和文でも意味深か）、英文だと何故か印象深く感じる（以前もそうでした。）、これは私だけでしょうか。（この文の解釈として、私の趣味の囲碁での話ですが、「どんな不利に見える盤面でも、そこからゲームが始まったつもりで最善を尽くすべし」という格言を思い出します。ゴルフにも有り勝負事にはつきもののようですね、この考えかた、人生は勝負ではありませんが---。）余談ですが、日本人には訳語のように”Bloom where you have been（下線部wereがベターか） planted.”のような受け身の形の方がピンときますが、ネーティブは逆のようですね。英語なるものが一つの事を言うのに千通りの言い方ができてしまう言語だからこそ、簡単・簡潔に言われると、ズキンとする。もしそうだとすると、英文学という学問が存在するのも分かる気がします。（以前、覚えればよいだけの唯の言葉でなにが学問かと英文学の存在を揶揄しましたが。）色は千色あれど、少ない色（学校英語に相当？）でも、無色（身振り手振りに相当？---shrugという動作は日本人には本当に似合わないですね、何でなのでせうあれは、一体全体。移民したJapaneseAmericanのその動作見てみたい、例えば現在NHKのトレッドジャパンに出演中のShimabukuro氏などの。）でさえも、感動的な絵が描けてしまう、そんな芸術なのか、英文とは－－－。「さー今日は、どんな言葉でどう言おか、」こう考えると、英語の発信型学習も心躍る作業ですね。頑張れ、発信英語学習者！このブログが受信の為のものである事も忘れ、一転英語礼賛になってしまいました、それも発信英語の---ははは。ともあれ、複雑な事には違いないようです（知らないから複雑に感じるだけか）。学習者のレベルでは、もっともっと単純に考えて良い、いや、べきなのでしょうが－－－。

前回（英語そのものの難しさ）前々回（会話力の難しさ）に言及しました、英語の難しさに対してのスタンスですが、自分の必要性に合わせて目指す照準を定め、少しずつ着実に習得していく、どうもそれしかないように思います。「あれもこれも」、そして「ネーティブと同じように」を目指しては行き詰まるのは必定（事ここに至ってはジャパニーズイングリッシュでよい、文法さえ正しければ、---こんなスタンスでよいのではと、素人ながら感じています。皆様はいかがですか。）、成長期後から始める習得作業はこと語学に限らず、悔しいがこれ以外はないようです。このブログの眼目は、新聞、雑誌の読解です。単語がなんとか思い出せればそれでよし、そのおまけ効果として、リスニング、スピーキングもたどたどしいながら少しは上達していくかも、そう信じてやり続けるしかない、そう思っています。緊急に仕事等で必要という場合は、とりあえず、頻度の高い言い回しを必死で丸暗記するよりないのでせうね、熱心度合い・真剣度合いで、結果は当然違うでせうが。（ダジャレは真剣それともおふざけ？）ともかくも、このブログを見て頂いてる方々には、心よりエールを送りたい気持ちで一杯です。
