2/4NHK講座単語、こんな風に使われていました!

                      随想

NHK語学講座の単語としての初の7語の内、メディアでの扱い(レビューⅢ)は次のようでした。
   三例とも一か月以内に使われていたもの、 fiasco(一般名詞)、bundle(多義語の動詞) の二語                         
   三例とも一か月以内に使われていなかったもの diarrheal、rascal (場面が限られる生活用語)の二語
   vet'sは全く現れませんでした。この単語のように、ある特定の場面だけの、長ったらしいと短縮して改造したような独特の生活用語は、話言葉では沢山見うけられます。書き言葉の中では全く使われず、辞書にもなく、ネーティブとの会話を通してしか覚えられない、学習者にとっての正に鬼門で、これこそが殊に映画などのリスニングを難解にしている元凶である事が、つきとめられた思いです。
 このように、文語と口語は英語では厳然と区別されており、学習法の難しさが分かる気がします。本の種類にもよるでしょうが、一般の本をいくら読んでも会話は上達しないのが納得できます。だからでしょうね、英会話の参考書が後から後から山のように出され、学習を強要されるのは。片や、こと読解力に限れば、このブログのレビューⅢで高頻出の単語を覚えていく事が、力をつける事になる事も確信できた思いです。

 ダジャレ文の中の青色文字は英語の意味、赤色文字は語呂合わせの部分で、かなりなまったり方言ぽくなる場合があります。(ダジャレ文は語呂合わせの為の文言で、意味の正当性、日本文としての正確性は有りません事ご周知下さい。)英語の意味と語呂が重なっている場合紫色文字になります。初公開時以降に追加・修正した部分は緑色背景文字で表示しています。英単語に添えられた丸数字は難易度レベルを表しています。詳しくは8/27号をご参照ください。(⑦~⑫は書物には頻出。⑳以上も新聞等には時折出現する。)

near words in the dictionary—(chintz,chintzyの2語)---読書中に、このての単語ピンときたら快適でせうね。大抵は辞書ひかされる破目になる。ただし、存命中に出会う保証無し。だいたいネーティブ達はいつどこでこんなもの覚えるというのでせう?

1)獣医クリニックという意味での例文はありませんでした。いかに話し言葉であったかが分かりました。このように英語の場合、会話と読み書きとでは単語を厳然と区別して使っているようですね。(随想参照されたし)
